Persuasive Essay #2

Assignment:
using your article, accomplish the following writing tasks:
1. summarize the article in 3-4 sentences, hitting the article's thesis and major points.
2. state your position on this issue in 1-2 sentences.
3. brainstorm reasons for your position.
4. what is the larger issue at stake regarding your position?
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1-2.        My article for this essay is about a murder from New York City and his journal. In this article, it discusses fragments of his personal journal read aloud in court. Most of these fragments are graphic and guiltless, upsetting the family member who lost his two children and wife because of this murder. They show little remorse, but show inside the mind of the murder. I find this article very interesting. It is interesting because it shows you how shameless and messed up a killer can be, and gives you an idea of how they think. At the same time I find it to be very sad, because no one wants to hear of the pleasure felt when someone you deeply loved got killed.
3.            -not everyone should have constant access to courtrooms.
                -some material in court explicit
                - some parts of court should be kept limited to only members of the legal team
4. If it is too explicit for all members of the courtroom, too explicit for the newspaper. Not everything needs to be posted in the newspaper to be discussed and read. Show some respect for those suffering hardship and respect their right to privacy.

No more college

Dear parents,
As awesome as school is, working really hard and sleeping only a few hours a night, I've decided to resign from getting my education. I know right now your probably thinking about throwing down this piece of paper and ripping my head off, but please wait just one second before you jump into action. While I no longer will be going to school, I will be traveling the world by sponsorship of hot dog eating contests. The positive side in this is that I will become culturarly educated, while eating one of America's best known cuisines. I know your probably upset about the money you've lost so far this semester. Don't worry, I've figured that out to. After calculating my hot dog eating contests winnings, in 10 years I should be able to pay you back! I hope I've broughten enlightenment to you and you will see how great the decision I've made is.
Love you :)

Office Partayyy

Dear Mr. Boss,
I think I may have enjoyed myself a little too much at the Christmas party this weekend. I know a few things were said here and there that may have dampered the party a little. The egg nog was a little more than I anticipated. I just wanted to apologize for overly celebrating the greatness of our company. Sorry again.

Your favorite employee,

Madison

PS. I think giving me a raise would be of great interest to you.

Academic Paper

To write an academic paper you must first have some knowledge in the area your writing about. To do this, you should probably do some research on the topic. You can use the web, books, or articles to find out information. After you feel you know what your talking about, you simply brainstorm and organize your thoughts. Once you've developed your ideas and have come up with a thesis you begin writing your rough draft. Academic papers are tougher to write because they usually involve you exploring a topic you weren't familiar with before. You have to do research and a get feel, where as in other papers, you can sometimes write off of pure opinion, no research necessary.
